Overview

This is not another “Fleet Safety 101” session. There are no endless slides – It’s a candid, thoughtful conversation between two industry veterans for professionals who experience the complexity of fleet risk every day.

With rising insurance premiums, shrinking driver availability, retention issues, and data spread across disconnected systems, organizations are under immense pressure to work leaner, safer, and smarter. But here’s the real issue: dashboards don’t drive behavior. And frontline supervisors, the ones closest to the risk, often don’t get the actionable insights and guidance they need at the right time to prevent the accidents and drive cultural change. If they do get the information it is often dated and not actionable in a meaningful way.

In this panel, Bill Spiers brings the insurance industry’s perspectives on the risk of disconnected data and how it impacts liability exposure, risk coverages, and premiums, along with practical insights. Mike Miller offers the operational view, focusing on equipping risk and safety teams with insights from his journey of building processes, culture, and technology from the ground up at two different companies. Together, they’ll explore how concepts like control towers can unify the fleet risk signals and empower actions, from front-line employees, to supervisors, all the way to corporate leadership.

What you’ll take away:

  • Why disconnected data fails both safety teams and insurers
  • How to give the leaders in the field the right insights without overwhelming them
  • What insurers look for in behavior-based fleet risk evaluation
  • How to apply control tower thinking to unify risk signals across your fleet
  • How data can empower leaders to lead with positive coaching to drive change, accountability and better outcomes

Leave with a clearer path to building a connected, proactive fleet safety program that works across every level of the organization.
